About This Blog

‘Better Educate Than Never’ is a blog primarily aimed at educators, whether you are a teacher, administrator or lucky enough to be within a position of school leadership, within an international school. Regardless of which stage your school is at, it’s never too late to improve things and change your school’s culture.

An international school is just one that offers an accredited international curriculum, meaning one that isn’t from the country in which the school is located. All over the world, there are schools teaching American and British curriculum to students for whom English is not their native language, and almost without exception these schools are private. This brings with it a number of challenges, and breaking out of the mediocre into the exceptional can seem impossible at times, but as long as you and your school are willing to try something new, anything is possible.

International school communities are largely the same the world over. All parents want what’s best for their children, and all schools want to have a great reputation while also making money. In many cases, the challenges that come with balancing the needs of both parties are similar.

You might be at a school that has all the funding in the world, or one that even struggles to get packs of A4 paper, but this blog has something for you. Everything in this blog is from personal experience and I can assure you that it can be done if you have the desire to develop your school, table your ideas, plan accordingly, and get your team behind you. Most of the ideas I share are ones that are easy to implement, with very little or no cost to the school.
